I had thought this was a Daimler SP250, a rare sight even when new:
But it’s not. It’s a 1967
Sunbeam Alpine. However, there’s a Daimler there too, behind it in fact

Here we go.
The SP250 was originally to be called the D
art and was the last product from Daimler (no, not that one, t
he other one) before it was bought by Jaguar. It had a fibreglass body to reduce tooling costs and a 2.5 V8, a thing not commonly seen and which had a brief outing in Jags subsequently
. Just 1500 or so were made and Jaguar dropped it as they already had the E Type which could be made cheaper. This one’s in excellent condition and sports a new fabric
roof.

The Alpine is rarely seen because most of them, at least here, have been turned in to Tiger clones .

Yeah it seems like Tigers are more common than Alpines, but that can’t be true.
